Where can I convert AXL to wAXL and vice versa?
AXL is a chain-agnostic token, meaning it can be represented on various chains.
-
wAXL
ERC-20-compatible version of AXL, used on EVM chains -
AXL
is the native utility token that powers the Axelar network.
The ERC-20-compatible version of AXL, used on EVM chains, is called wAXL (wrapped AXL). It works on any EVM-compatible chain. Our tutorial on bridging wAXL to other chains assumes you already have wAXL in your EVM wallet (e.g., MetaMask).
How to convert AXL to wAXL and vice versa?
You can either use Axelar’s cross-chain dApp Satellite or CoinList for converting AXL tokens to wAXL (and vice versa). [Users have reported long withdrawal delays on CoinList which is why we recommend using Satellite]
For holders of native AXL, this tutorial will show you how to convert native AXL into wAXL. (If you’re looking to go the other way, here is a tutorial for converting wAXL to AXL for staking. A list of all AXL tokenholder tutorials is available here.)
