Regional Moderators Proposal | Spanish October 2024 - March 2025

Proposal Overview

Proposal for the moderation of the Axelar regional community in Spanish.

  • Monthly salary for moderators and supports: 3,501 AXL.
  • Events and activities per quarter: 6,000 AXL.
  • Total amount for the full six-month period: 33,006 AXL (21,006 AXL for salaries + 12,000 AXL for events). This equals $16,503 at the current price of $0.50 per AXL.

As a sign of our commitment we will not apply any charge for the work done during the month of August and September, starting the period for this proposal in October.

Timeline

  • September 12, 2024: Share the proposal with the community for feedback.
  • September 15, 2024: Publish the proposal on mainnet if no significant feedback is received.
  • October 1, 2024: Start the payment process for regional moderators.

Deliverables and Notes

This proposal follows the “Regional Community Master Proposal” and is based on the work carried out by the official Spanish Axelar community since its creation over two and a half years ago as part of the Quantum Community Program.
Each regional team is responsible for the growth of its community and must report monthly KPIs to the Axelar community through an activity report on the forum. The report must include:

  • Number of messages sent.
  • Chat growth.
  • Translated and published announcements.
  • Activities carried out.

Moderation Activities and Events

The following activities are carried out by the regional moderation team:

  • Community management across different channels (Telegram, Discord):
    • Sharing news with the community on Telegram: Contact @AxelarNetwork_ES (translated news, articles, proposals, partnerships, news roundups, AMA dates, important announcements, and events).
    • Sharing all Axelar news with the official Spanish Cosmos community Telegram: Contact @Cosmos_Network_ES (cross-marketing).
    • Responding to and resolving all developer and user queries in both communities.
    • Providing community support for use cases in Axelar and Cosmos in Spanish (AXL staking, AXL transfers, Axelar campaigns, Axelar testnets, and Axelar-integrated DAPPs).
  • Monthly Zealy campaigns: Targeting 4,000 tasks per month distributed among participants, with a minimum 10-day campaign each month.
  • Monthly Quizzes: To assess the community’s knowledge about Axelar. Example of past quizzes.
  • Support for quests and campaigns: Assistance with platforms such as Galxe, Layer3, and any Axelar-related activities.
  • Monitoring and scam prevention: Using filters to keep the channel clean, ensuring zero spam or scams.
  • Participation in in-person events: Explaining Axelar Network’s development and news at at least one major in-person event in Spanish during these six months.
  • YouTube Channel creation: Explaining Axelar in Spanish, sharing news, and conducting project interviews, with at least one video per month.
  • Weekly Twitter Spaces: Engaging with other projects integrated with Axelar and collaborating with other Spanish-speaking communities (Axelar cross-marketing).

Organization of Events and Campaigns

  • Monthly Zealy campaigns (+10 days duration): Aiming to increase community engagement and cross-marketing, targeting more than 4,000 tasks per month and more than 100 participants.
  • Organization of at least two high-quality AMA Spaces per month in Spanish to meet projects integrated with Axelar and share recent news.
  • Goal of AMAs, quizzes, and activities: Increase engagement and knowledge about Axelar and its integrations.
  • Rewards: Participants will share a monthly pool of 2,000 AXL, divided between the Zealy campaign leaderboard, AMAs, quizzes, and other community activities. (We are requesting 2,000 AXL per month for incentives due to the intensity of Zealy campaigns and the high number of participants).

  • Salary for supports and moderation: (x3) 1,167 AXL per month for mods/supports.
  • Total salary: 3,501 AXL per month.
  • Total amount for the full period (Salaries + Community Incentives): 33,006 AXL ($16,503 at the current price of $0.50 per AXL).

Summary of Work from the Last Six Months

During the previous period (January - July 2024), numerous AMAs were held with more than 100 participants. Summary of the latest AMAs: x.com (AMAs with Bitcoin Stacks, IronFish, Heredera, NYM, HoudiniSwap, Coinex, Gateio, and more).

Results of Zealy Campaigns

Example of results: Users completed more than 4,900 tasks in one month, with 2,600 AXL in prizes and more than 100 participants (around 50 tasks per user). 8,000 AXL were distributed among participants for fulfilling various conditions during campaigns and activities (for more information, check monthly reports on our Axelar Forum Profile: https://community.axelar.network/u/axelar_es/summary).

Goals and Objectives for the Next Six Months

Our main goal for the next six months is to increase the number of participants through Zealy campaigns, AMAs, quizzes, and monthly activities. We will also conduct AMAs with Spanish-speaking exchange communities and other Spanish communities of projects integrating with Axelar to attract retail members’ interest.

Our Zealy campaigns are composed of numerous decentralized marketing activities for the community, among them we will find:

  • Introduce yourself to the community through audio in Spanish.
  • Tweet outreach activities (likes/retweet/comments).
  • Tactical Team activities to share Axelar in other Hispanic communities.
  • Thread activities about the Axelar ecosystem.
  • Activities of what projects would you like to see integrating with Axelar.
  • Use of Axelar DAPPs, staking and participation in testnets.
  • Community joke and audio night.
  • Quizzes and knowledge quizzes.
  • Invite friends.
  • More activities can be added like game nights or HappyHours in community lives.

We hope that Zealy and AMA contests will attract new participants, and we plan to surpass 1,000 subscribers on Telegram and Twitter in the next period.

Team Composition:

  • One moderator to lead the community, organize AMAs and in-person events, distribute tasks, and coordinate cross-marketing with other Spanish-speaking communities.
  • One moderator responsible for organizing contests and Zealy campaigns, launching and verifying tasks with users daily.
  • Supports to help with any related activities to ensure the best organization and cross-community dissemination (cross-marketing and collaborations).

Metrics for Success:

  • At least 2,000 messages per month in Telegram.
  • More than 100 translated posts shared on Twitter with Axelar and CosmosHUB Spanish-speaking communities.
  • Exceed 1,000 users in Telegram and Twitter.
  • More than 100 active users per month.
  • At least 100 participants in each AMA, Zealy campaign, or activity.

Team Experience:

Our team has managed the official Spanish Cosmos community since its ICO in 2017 and has also created and successfully managed official communities for other projects such as EspañolNYM, Evmos_ES, Juno_ES, Comdex, Sifchain, etc. We are focused on CosmosSDK-based projects, and we are currently fully focused on the expansion of Axelar’s interoperability and outreach.

  1. Can you please specify how much AXL will you distribute to the community through Zealy campaigns for 6 months and per month?

  2. How are you planning to increase participation from 100 participants?

  3. Can you please provide more information on the growth of the Spanish community on Telegram over the past 6 months, your projection for growth over the next 6 months, and how you plan to achieve it?

  4. Lastly, how much AXL was distributed to the community through Zealy rewards in the previous grant?

From my pov, this is the best way to build a community around a big project like Axelar. There is so much info to learn and share in general that is mandatory to enrich AXL followers with other languages involved.

This way we can speed up the knowledge and engagement and also gain mass adoption for AXL and crypto in general.

Hope this proposal gains traction and is approved by community members.

Thank you for your inquiries. Please find the updated information below:

  1. AXL distribution for Zealy campaigns over 6 months:
    We plan to allocate 1,500 to 2,000 AXL monthly, depending on scheduled events such as AMAs and quizzes. Any remaining AXL from one month will be added to the next month’s Zealy campaign. In total, 2,000 AXL will be distributed monthly for Zealy campaigns, cross-marketing efforts, and engagement activities. We will also seek opportunities to collaborate with Spanish communities of projects involved with Axelar, CEX communities, and influencers if the chance arises.

  2. Increasing participation from 100 participants:
    We plan to boost participation by collaborating with other Spanish communities involved with Axelar integrations, exchange communities, organizing AMAs, and offering incentives for referrals and engagement. Additionally, we’ll reach out to influencers when the opportunity arises to extend our outreach. For example we share everything on Cosmos Spanish official with more than 1200 active members.

  3. Growth of the Spanish Telegram community over the past 6 months:
    The community grew by 40%, increasing from 450 to 630 members, with 15,906 messages and 845 translated posts. You have all the reports linked in the proposal. Below is the activity breakdown:

    • January: 3,235 messages, 150 translated posts
    • February: 2,486 messages, 126 translated posts
    • March: 1,972 messages, 126 translated posts
    • April: 2,019 messages, 97 translated posts
    • May: 1,862 messages, 152 translated posts
    • June: 2,026 messages, 93 translated posts
    • July: 2,306 messages, 101 translated posts

    Projection: We aim to reach 1,000 members on both Telegram and Twitter within 6 months by leveraging incentivized campaigns, cross-marketing efforts, and AMAs, all of which will help boost engagement.

  4. AXL distributed through Zealy rewards in the previous grant:
    In the last period, we were able to successfully run one Zealy campaign due to limited resources, distributing 2,600 AXL. This campaign saw 100 participants completing over 4,900 tasks, with an average of 45 tasks per participant. Although we requested additional support, it was unfortunately rejected, which limited our ability to continue running more Zealy campaigns.

    Despite this, we distributed a total of 8,000 AXL across various activities, including MEME contests, which can be verified here, as well as other events like staking, using applications, and creating content (threads). The experimental Zealy campaign was just one part of a broader set of activities designed to engage and grow the community.

We believe our community-building efforts have consistently produced some of the best results among regional communities, helping ensure Axelar’s presence is widely shared not only in our Telegram group but also in other key Hispanic communities, such as the official Cosmos Hispanic group with more than 1200 active members.

I have closely followed their work on Telegram, X, and the various campaigns they’ve organized, and I can confidently say that their dedication has been crucial for the growth and engagement of the Spanish-speaking community within the Axelar ecosystem.

I fully support this proposal. Community growth is one of the pillars of any good project and the best way to achieve that real growth is to promote participatory activities, learning and knowledge, to attract new users to contribute and build for the future of the project. :orange_heart:

Not forgetting that Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world! There are a lot of Spanish speaking users that still need to know Axelar. :muscle:

The only thing I can say is that thanks to this team, I deepened my knowledge of Axelar. They do a great job for the community, and in the months I’ve been with them, they’ve never failed to answer a question or help the community. Thank you so much for your work, and I support the request!!
